Abolition roaming charges in EU does not lead to lower costs

The abolition of roaming charges within the EU does not automatically lead to lower calling charges or reduced expenses for companies. Calling abroad has not become cheaper, and is sometimes even more expensive. The costs for out-of-bundle calls have increased, new subscriptions are more expensive and companies are charged higher fees due to complex contracts. Moreover, roaming charges are still applied in other European countries. Calling from Switzerland, for example, has even become more expensive than before.

European businesses pay too much for telecom services

European companies are still paying too much for telecommunication services such as telephony (fixed and mobile), text messaging and data usage on mobile devices. Particularly when used across international borders. While roaming charges -  the additional costs associated with data usage abroad - will no longer apply in 2017, the real problem to our opinion is, the patchwork European climate.

Europees bedrijfsleven betaalt te veel voor telecom

Bedrijven betalen nog steeds te veel voor bellen, sms'en en dataverbruik bij mobiel internetten, vooral als zij over de landgrenzen opereren. De roamingtarieven, de extra kosten die moeten worden betaald voor dataverbruik in het buitenland, worden weliswaar in 2017 afgeschaft. Maar het echte probleem, naar mijn mening, is en blijft de lappendeken die Europa is op het gebied van telecom.
